List 3 types of self reports used in data collection
1) Interviews: unstructured VS semi structured
2) Questionnaire: close ended or open ended
3) Scale: Likert scale, visual analog scale, Rating scale
what is the difference between unstructured interviews and semi structured interview?
unstructured:
- begins with a broad qns, interviewee has to elaborate on it.
semi structured: researcher has a list of topics under the broad topic, but respondent still has the freedom to talk about anything they want under the topic.
List 2 types of observations
unstructured and structured
unstructured:
spontaneous and recorded in words. respondents are not informed
structured:
respondents will be informed beforehand on what will be observed. done via checklist or rating scale.
explain biophysiologic measures
such as blood pressure temperature etc.
it is accurate and precise, objective, difficult to tamper with.
