frequency domain (we move from time domain into frequency domain) giving us the image spectrum

A
if we apply inverse fourier transform to image spectrum we get original image to also regain spatial domain

large object has small frequency with curved edges
small object: high frequency with sharp edges

A
highpass filtering will occur in the centre (excludes low frequency)
low pass filtering occurs at peripheral (excludes high frequencies)
