Linear regression is used to describe a linear relationship between variables where the dependent variable has a normal distribution.
Logistic (logit) regression is used to predict the probability of a dependent variable being part of a group
Proportional hazard (cox) regression modeling determines the survival time of a patient given a set of independent variables (demographics and treatments)
