Week 5 Flashcards
1
Q
What is the solution to seeing who scored best in an RT task where there is a speed accuracy trade off?
A
Signal detection theory
2
Q
Why do we not use a normal gaussian distribution for RTs?
A
RT distributions have a right skew
3
Q
What distribution might be even closer to reality?
A
The Ex-Wald, the convolution of the exponential and Wald distribution
4
Q
How are the inverse gaussian distributions of RTs usually plotted
A
Opposites facing each other, one for incorrect responses, the other for correct (one flipped). The distributions usually start at around 200ms to allow time to process and press the key etc
