Immune system
Adrenaline
Adrenergic agonist - bronchodilation + vasoconstriction, treatment for severe systemic anaphylaxis.
Methotrexate, Azathioprine, Cyclophosphamide
Immunosuppressive drugs - used in various autoimmune diseases (e.g. manage severe symptoms involving internal organs in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus).
HAART (Highly Active AntiRetroviral Therapy)
Used in regimen for treating HIV infection.
Anticholinesterase
Inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase - increases the level of acetylcholine at synapses (used in the treatment Myasthenia Gravis).
Methotrexate
Inhibits the enzyme Dihydrofolate Reductase - reduces the synthesis of folic acid slowing the growth of rapidly dividing cells (e.g. cancer cells or rheumatoid arthritis).
Interferons, Glatiramer
Suppresses T-cells - Treatment of Multiple sclerosis
Dexamethasone, Prednisolone, Hydrocortisone
Corticosteroid - anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects.
Filgrastim
Recombinant colony-stimulating factor - used to treat neutropenia.
