Xanax (Alprazolam)
Indication: Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder
Drug Class: Anti-anxiety, benzodiazepines (sub-class)
Special notes: C-IV drug
Prilosec (Omeprazole)
Indications: gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), gastric ulcers
Drug Class: Proton pump inhibitors (PPI)
Special notes: Not for immediate use of heartburn, OTC
Tenormin (Atenolol)
Indications: Hypertension
Drug Class: Antihypertensive, Beta blocker (sub-class)
Special notes: Taper off gradually, can cause angina exacerbation, MI, and ventricular arrhythmias
Lasix (Furosemide)
Indications: Edema, hypertension
Drug Class: Antihypertensive, Loop diuretics (sub-class)
Special note: Electrolyte depletion
Aleve (Naproxen)
Indications: minor aches and pains, fever, inflammation
Drug Class: NSAID
Special note: OTC
Yaz (Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)
Indications: pregnancy preventions, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), acne
Drug Class: Oral Contraceptive
Lanoxin (Digoxin)
Indications: Heart failure, atrial fibrillation
Drug class: cardiac glycoside
Special notes: Caution- HIGH alert medication
Humulin N+R (Insulin isophane/ Insulin regular)
Indications: Type 1+2 diabetes
Drug Class: Antihyperglycemic, insulin (sub-class)
Special notes: Insulins are stored in the refrigerator, use within 31 days of opening, comes in in 50/50 and 70/30 mixture
