Q

What are some examples of assessments for executive function?

A

Behavioural assessment of dysexecutive function (BADS), six subtests and a 20 item questionnaire. The subtests are the Rule Shift Cards Test, Action Program Test, Key Search Test, Temporal Judgment Test, Zoo Map Test, and Modified Six Elements Test.

Trail making tests

Delis-Kaplan Executive functioning system. (consists of 9 subtests)
trail making, verbal fluency, design fluency, colour-world interference, sorting test, 20 questions test, word context, tower test, proverb test

Q

Types of memory

A

Explicit (declarative): conscious, intentional recall of info from past. includes semantic (facts/general knowledge) and episodic memory (events from personal past)

Implicit (non-declarative memory): unconscious retention of information or skills. Includes procedural (hoe to play piano), priming ( stimulus prompts recollection of related stimulus, ie exposure to word yellow leads to faster recognition of word banana presented after)
classical conditioning (learned association between two stimuli)

Q

Difference between ideomotor and ideational apraxia

A

Ideomotor: difficulties in executing despite being able to conceptualise or plan

Can be tested using TULA (test of upper limb apraxia)
