- Tunica Externa: Contains collagen and elastic fibres.
- Tunica Media: Mostly smooth muscle but has some collagen and elastic fibres.
- Tunica Interna: Has epithelial tissue for liminal flow.

- Conducting arteries: Elastic arteries expand to lessen fluctuations during diastole and systole.
- Distributing arteries: Muscular arteries control flow via vasoconstriction/vasodilation.
- Resistance vessels: Controls blood flow via peripheral resistance.
