What is NFS? What does it stand for? (2)

NFS - Network File System
Enables us to share files over a network

How do you mount the NFS?
A
The same way you would any other file system except you’d use the host name instead of a physical disk

What is Samba?
A
An alternative to NFS for better Windows interoperability
(Windows doesn’t work as well with NFS)

What’s the difference between Samba and SMB?
A
SMB is a protocol that Samba implements

What does NAS stand for? What is it?
A
Network-attached storage
These are computers that are optimized for file storage (instead of using a dedicated server)
