Week 3 Flashcards
What Inspection is conducted on a time or hourly or calendar interval (whichever comes first) on small private or commercial aircraft?
Periodic Inspections
A type of inspection that divides an aircraft into different areas and then inspects each of those areas on a separate interval.
Phased Inspections
a phase check must be done every?
200 hours Air Time
all inspection phases are done within a specified period. What is the specific period?
24 months (2yrs)
A ______ inspection allows for more frequent but shorter inspection phases, as long as all items required for the annual and 100-hour are inspected within the required time.
Progressive
why do owners opt for a progressive inspection plan?
To minimize maintenance downtime
This check is performed approximately every 160-180 flight hours or 200–300 flights, depending on aircraft type. It needs about 50-70 hours to complete and usually performed in a hangar for a minimum of 10 hours.
A Check
This check is performed approximately every 6-8 months or every 400-600 hours, depending on the aircraft type. It is usually completed within 1–3 days at an airport hangar.
B Check
This check puts the aircraft out of service, and the aircraft must not leave the maintenance site until it is completed. this is performed approximately every 20–24 months or a specific number of actual flight hours (FH) or as defined by the manufacturer.
C check
Where do they carry out C checks?
carried out in a hangar at a maintenance base
This check occurs approximately every 6-10 years. sometimes known as a “heavy maintenance visit” (HMV)
D Check
