A

it has h-bonds, therefore slightly polar!

H-bonds man what for water?

A

In general, its just very sticky to itself (Adheadin) and to other things (cohesion)

  • LArge Head capacity (lots of E to change states. Makes water very stable in temp)
  • Ice is less dense than liquid water (the structure of h-bonds when frozen cause spaces = air pockets to float)
  • Great Solvent (dude to plolar charge!)

A

connects to how warming oceans means less co2 absorption, less temp mitigating

A

pressure increases as you go deeper (more stuff pushing down at the top, gasses are there more easily)
also means that gasses are most soluble

A

causes by displacement of water by the object (gravity pushed down, the water then pushed up)
most buoyant in high density.

A

Laminar (straight) vs turbulent (crazy flow)

  • > more crazy, more nutrient/gas mixing
  • > Turb inc with rocks and velocity
  • What moves it? Solar en (potential kinetic) gravity (release of potential kinetic)Wind (rotational movement at top) Coriolis effect (earths rotation, only on big scale)

What is diffusion?

A

Particles that travel from are of low to high [ ].
molecular diff -> realizes on particle movement. Slows
Transport diff-> realises on turb flow and is fast! MOre dominion in flowing water

A

Important? photosynthesis, and water heating

  • > from air to water, refracts slightly
  • . Reflect: depends on how smooth the water is (m s, m r)
  • absorption: depends on the amount of particles in water, does it help scatter light?

A
