What are the treatments for oropharyngeal trauma?
- Patent airway
- Anti-inflammatory drugs, antimicrobial agents
- Remove foreign body if present
- Correct acid-base disturbance
Definition:
is caused by the bacteria Actinomyces bovis (gram +), which is a normal inhabitant of the bovine mouth (commonly occurs in the mandible)
“Lumpy jaw”
- Actinomycosis, causes hard, non-painful swelling of the bone
Definition:
is a bacterial infection (gram -) as a result of abrasions in the mouth
Wooden Tongue
- Actinobacillus ligneresii, Tongue thickened, hard, protrudes from mouth
- can get better
