Q

Do the resources used to maintain self control decline with repeated use?

A

YES>
the ability to have self control relies on resources which are limited.

These resources must be replenished in order for self control to be used continuously and effectively.

These resources are allocated by personal priorities - the most important thing to have self control will use the resources first and other things will be left without much self control.

What does the “Strength Model of self-control” say?

A

that the resource can become depleted after intense use however, it can also be strengethened with extended use over time.

ie. the resources relied on for self control can run out if used intensly, but when used over time perseverence is built up and self control is more effective. (like muscles)
