beclomethasone
dependent on route and length of administration
inhaled glucocorticoids
adrenal suppression, oral candidiasis, dysphonia (hoarse speaking)
oral glucocorticoids
seen with prolonged therapy
- adrenal suppression, osteoporosis, hyperglycemia, peptic ulcer disease, growth suppression in children
inhaled SABAs (albuterol)
tachycardia, angina, tremor
inhaled LABAs
increase risk for severe asthma and asthma related death
oral beta 2 adrenergic antagonists (brochodilators)
produce cardiac ADEs like angina pectoris and tachy-dysrhythmias as well as tremor in skeletal muscle
dextromethorphan
rare except at high doses. causes mild inebriation and possible state of mind body dissociation
