The amount of water used by a party, both directly and indirectly.
Irrigation equipped area
An area equipped with an irrigation system.
Urban water
Types of urban water: potable water, wastewater, stormwater, recycled water.
Stormwater
Runoff from the urban landscape.
Groundwater contamination
When groundwater is contaminated by industrial spills, surface impoundments, landfills, injection wells etc.
Groundwater treatment
Techniques: soil extraction, pump and treat, physical barriers, biological (microbes), chemical (surfactants).
Bioremediation
To simulate/enhance a site’s indigenous subsurface microorganisms by the addition of nutrients and an electron donor.
