An environment in which one’s exposure to news, entertainment, social media, etc., represents only one ideological or cultural perspective and excludes or misrepresents other points of view.
What is alternative media alternative from?
They are media sources that are alternative to the dominant types of media in terms of their content, production, or distribution.

- reduction in the distance between individuals, societies, and nation states in terms of both time and space facilitated by technological developments
- increased awareness of global phenomena in people’s lives
- assumes a decrease in the significance of other kinds of identities such as ethnic, local, regional, or national in people’s everyday lives

- Human beings become more critical of their immediate environment
- compares people’s experiences with those living in other societies
