Define Rhetoric
The ability in each case to see available means of persuasion
The purpose of rhetoric is to cell false ideas

Some articles/ideas may fly better sometimes rather than others. If a recent event causes a product to sell more, articles regarding the product will be read. This is Kairos, and can be a very helpful tool if used at the right time

effectively summarize main points, provide a sense of closure and reinforce thesis statement.
Why would you include a visual in your work?
To demonstrate important quantities, eg, a graph that cant be shown in words

Currency: timeliness of info
Relevance: how the info fits your needs
Authority: the source of the info
Accuracy: reliability and correctness
Purpose: the reason the info exists

Audience: Intended readers, eg. academics, engineers, laymen
Purpose: The why and so what, the reason for the existence of your work
How are audience and purpose linked?
The purpose of writing should align with the needs of your audience
writing for experts: complex ideas, complex tone/diction
Writing for students: simple tone explain basic concepts
Intro, body and conclusion, what is their purpose
Intro: capture attention, present main topic, provide context
Body: Develop central idea, argue, present evidence
Conclusion: summarize main points discussed, reinforce theme, provide closure to reader and connect to broader implications
Define: Tone, Diction, Theme
Tone: writers attitude towards subject matter or audience conveyed through word choice and style
Diction: word selection, syntax, level of formality
Theme: the underlying central idea/ meaning of the writing
