what is the difference between authoritarianism and totalitarianism?
authoritarianism seeks total power by crushing opposition, but can coexist with others whereas totalitarianism is a single power that seeks total control of not only the political machine, but also of wider society.
what major sacrifice did those in power of a fascist society have to make?
loyalty to state over family - would have to cut family ties if they were an issue.

a person living in a nationalist nation would be much more comfortable taking pride in their nation compared to a fascist one
