What are the advantages of having a written objective items?

- It is versatile since it can be used for different objectives, thinking processes, and different levels.

What are the disadvantages of having written objective items?
- They may be inefficient for objectives in valuing, organizing, integrating, writing, innovating, and performing.
- They may be time-consuming and difficult to construct.

What are the advantages of SAQ?
- Relatively fast to mark and can be marked
by different assessors, as long as the questions are set in such a way that all alternative answers can be considered by the assessors. - Also relatively easy to set compared to
many assessment methods. - It can be used as part of a formative and
summative assessment, as the structure of short answer questions, is very similar to examination questions, students are more familiar with the
practice and feel less anxious. - There is no guessing on answers, students must supply an answer.
