Week 1 Flashcards

1
Q

Intelligent Systems

A

Components of Intelligent Systems

A
  • a meaningful objective
  • the intelligent experience
  • implementation of intelligence
  • intelligence creation/ intelligence should evolve over time
  • orchestration of intelligence
  • data: as more data becomes available the system improvise its algorithm without being explicitly programmed (main component) implementation of the ML Algorithm

Making an Intelligent System

A

Building an effective Intelligent System requires balancing 5 major components: the objective, the experience, the implementation, the intelligence, and the orchestration.

Q

Why and When to use Intelligent Systems?

A
  • intelligent systems are able to automatically adapt to their algorithm as more data becomes available.
  • solve intrinsically hard problems such as predicting weather or stock prices, recommending objects of interest to users, understanding human behavior via passive data collections
  • however, the need to build an intelligent system depends on the problem definition.
  • Try answering the question ‘How often you’ll need to update the system before you have the right solution to your problem?” proceed with intelligent system building only if the answer to the question is “very often”
