Concept 1 –All part of the system are interconnected
Concept 2 –The whole is more than the sum of its parts
Concept 3 –All systems have some form of boundaries or borders between the system and its environment
Concept 4 – Systems can be further organized into subsystems

Family Stress Theory
Stressors that impose an impact on family relationships and dynamics, can be internal and external
The internal context involves elements that a family can change or control. The external context consists of the time and place in which a particular family finds itself and over which the family has no control.
