What is lifespan development
The field of study that examines patterns of growth, change, and stability in behaviour that occur throughout the entire lifespan
What does critical development refer to? Is it reversible?
A specific time during development when a particular event has its greatest consequences.
It is not reversible.
What does a particular event refer to in the definition of critical development?
It is the closing in of a neural tube, and the environmental stimuli that assists this closure is folic acid.
What is a sensitive period in development? Give an example.
A point in development when people are particularly susceptible.
I.e.: language development - the sensitive period for development of language is infancy
