blog

cascading style sheets
the designer’s link to a toolset that allows for truly amazing style options on an HTML document.
host
any hardware device that has the capability of permitting access to a network via a user interface, specialized software, network address, protocol stack, or any other means.
image map
a list of coordinates relating to a specific image, created in order to hyperlink areas of the image to different destinations
listserv
a computerized list of names and email addresses that a company or organization keeps, so that they can send people emails containing information or advertisements.
mailing list
usually composed of email addresses of subscribers to a website/service/business and/or emails collected through offline or manual means.
pop-up window
a window that automatically appears (“pops up”) on a website while the user is browsing, often by itself.
search engine
an information retrieval system designed to help find information stored on a computer system.
status bar
a graphical control element which poses an information area typically found at the window’s bottom.
streaming
The technology of transmitting audio and video files in a continuous flow over a wired or wireless internet connection.
tagging
a keyword or term assigned to a piece of information
template
a sample document that has already some details in place
traffic
the amount of data moving across a computer network at any given time.
