Portable Document Format. The file format of documents viewed and created by the Adobe Acrobat Reader and others.
Back-end Developer
Person who uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop Web sites.
Front-end Developer
Person who uses CSS and image editing software to design the front end or public side of the website.
Full Stack Developer
The term full-stack means developers who are comfortable working with both back-end and front-end technologies. To be more specific, it means that the developer can work with databases, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and everything in between, also, venturing as far as converting Photoshop designs to front-end code.
application
A program that performs a function directly for a user; FTP, e-mail, and telnet clients, are examples of network applications.
archive
As a noun, archive is the place on an Internet host where files are stored. It is also a file that contains a number of compressed files. As a verb, archive means to compress a number of files into one file for storage and transmittal.
DNS server
Domain Name System. A database system that translates an IP address into a domain name. A name given to a host computer on the internet.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
Standard by which data is transferred (upload/download) between different computers on a network.
post
To place an HTML file on a server to make it available for browsing.
publish
To transfer files from a local computer to a remote Web server so that the Web site can be viewed over the Internet.
RGB
A color value expressed with three characters that represents the amount of red, green, and blue present in a color.
Target audience
The main group of people that you want to visit your Web site.
template
A web page that contains the basic layout for each page in the site, including the location of a company logo, banner, and navigation links.
