What is the Kennedy Code?
We’re responsible, respectful, and we persevere!
What is weather?
Weather is a short-term change in the atmosphere.
What is climate?
Describes weather trends over long periods of time.
What is high pressure?
Air that is more dense. Molecules are close together. Wants to move to a low pressure area.
What is low pressure?
Air that is less dense. Molecules are father apart.
What is the Coriolis Effect?
The rotation of the Earth causes the wind to appear to curve.
What is a circulation?
Water and air moving in a circular pattern.
What is salinity?
The amount of salt in something.
What is rain shadow?
The side of a mountain that’s dry and not wet.
What are climate zones?
Areas with distinct climate that can be defined by weather patterns, latitude, or plant and animal communities.
What is precipitation?
Part of the water cycle when water falls to the Earth as snow, rain, sleet, or hail.
What is altitude?
The height an object is above ground or sea level.
What is latitude?
The horizontal lines on a globe. Measures the amount N or S from the equator a location is.
