Weather Flashcards

1
Q

What’s the weather like where you live?

A

Daegu’s weather is known to be the hottest city so there is a nickname called Daefrica and this combined Africa with the name. I easily get hot so I don’t really like the weather in my city. In the summer, I try my best to stay indoors.

Q

Do you prefer cold or hot weather?

A

Compared to hot weather, I prefer cold weather because I don’t sweat when it’s cold. I easily get hot so I just don’t like hot weather. So, my favorite season is autumn.

Q

Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

A

I slightly prefer dry weather more because my body feels lighter and when the weather is wet, I feel under the weather (상태가 안 좋다 - 숙어). If it’s wet, the laundry doesn’t even dry well so it doesn’t feel good.

Q

Are you in the habit of checking the weather forecast? When/How often?

A

Yes, I check the weather forecast the day before, right before I sleep. If there is an important day, I always check before but when I go to work, I don’t check. But if there is a business trip or a trip scheduled, I must check.

Q

What do you think are the effects of climate change in recent years?

A

Due to climate change, in Korea, the weather became hotter and there were more frequent typhoons/storms and the rainy season has been extended in the summer. Spring and autumn are much shorter than the past.

Q

Would you like to visit other cities that have different climates from where you live?

A

I would like to go to places in the Southern Hemisphere such as Australia because they have a different weather system than Korea. I think it would be interesting to experience. If there is a chance, I would love to go there.
