1
Q
How does latitude affect temperature? (2)
A
- The closer a place is to the equator the warmer the temperature.
- Solar rays have to travel through less atmosphere to get to the equator and don’t loose as much energy.
2
Q
How does altitude affect temperature? (2)
A
- The higher the altitude the colder the temperature.
- There is a drop of 1°c for every 100m you climb.
3
Q
How does the distance from the sea affect temperature? (4) (Summer/Winter)
A
- In Summer the closer one is to the sea, the colder they are.
- This is because the water takes longer to heat up than the mainland.
- In winter the closer on is to the sea, the warmer they are.
- This is because the water takes longer to loose it’s heat.
