Hot, dry, sandy conditions
A
- Liberally oil inside, dry wipe outside using OX24
- Muzzle Cover, Dust Cover and Sight cover fitted whilst not in use
- Fill magazine with 25 rounds to allow for build up of sand
- At the local commanders discretion - make ready

Hot, wet conditions
A
- Heavily oil outside and inside using OX24
- Change SUSAT for iron sights
- Watch for the rapid return of rust and remove

Extreme sub-temperature
A
- Liberally oil inside and outside using OX24
- Watch for the build up of snow and remove
- Avoid breathing on the sights and side of the weapon
- Check for rust regularly
- Watch for working parts sticking/freezing
- use stove naptha to defrost working parts

Marine environment
A
In all areas involving salt water, care must be taken to remove all traces before lubrication and after cleaning as salt is corrosive.
