Muscles become fatigued
Affects the eyes and face
Presents with proximal myopathy

1 UL weak lasting for a short time
Previous episode of visual loss that lasted 2 weeks
No sensory abnormalities

Slow proximal muscle weakness
Myalgia
Difficulty standing and walking
Associated with Raynaud’s
Polymyositis
Sudden onset left sided facial weakness
Slurred speech
No limb weakness
Sudden visual disturbance and hearing difficulty
Stroke
Distal muscle weakness associated with paraesthesia of affected muscles
Peripheral neuropathy
Gradual loss of upper and lower muscle strength
Fasciculations
Muscle wasting
Speech difficulty
Motor neuron disease
Fast onset facial weakness
No change in voice
Otherwise well
Bell’s palsy
Sudden onset
Leg weakness
Numbness
Saddle paraesthesia
Cauda equina
Proximal muscle weakness
Difficulty standing
Painless and progressive from childhood
Muscular dystrophy
