Intense, severe pain over one eye lasting for up to 30 minutes at a time and occurs several times over a few weeks. Associated with lacrimation
Cluster headache
Pain over front of face with coryzal symptoms.
Pain is worse on leaning forward
Sinusitis
Pulsating pain in the head
Gradual onset of symptoms
Associated with visual problems, photophobia, fatigue and nausea
Migraine
Band-like headache
Precipitated by stress or lack of sleep
Tension
Thunderclap headache, occipital, worse at time of onset, worse when coughing or sneezing
Subarachnoid haemorrhage
Headache, neck stiffness, photophobia, fatige, fever, drowsiness and reduced consciousness
Meningitis
Headache on the side of the head
Brushing hair or chewing food is painful
Associated with visual problems/sudden onset blindness
Temporal arteritis
Sharp, electrical pain down the side of the face and worsened by touching the affected area
Trigeminal neuralgia
