Cuban Revolution
was a military and political effort to overthrow the government of Cuba between 1953 and 1959. The immediate impact of the Cuban Revolution was the overthrow of Batista and the rise to power of the revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro. Cuba gradually became a communist government, supported by the U.S.S.R. At that time the Cold War between the capitalist and communist blocs was active.
