what is Functional magnetic resonance imaging
measure the brain’s activity while they are performing tasks
It detects radio waves from changing magnetic fields.
So can see regions of the brain rich in oxygen and thus are active
what is Electroencephalogram (EEG)
Recordes tiny electrical impulses produced by brain activity.
Through measuring brains characteristic waves patterns
Help to diagnose certain condition of the brain
what is Event - related potentials (ERPs)
Response to the brain’s specific sensory, cognitive or motor events.
Can be isolated through statical analysis of EEG data
what is Post - mortem examinations
Brain analysed after death to determine the cause of death
Certain observed behaviours during a person’s lifetime can be linked to structural abnormalities in the brain
