How to work out frequency and wavelength

Count how many waves there are in a certain amount of time and divide by the time taken
Work out the distance between two crests

Ripple tank

Set up the ripple tank with 5mm of water
Count the amount of waves passing a point in 10 seconds to find frequency
Stop the speed and measure the wavelength
Multiply them to find the wave speed

Attach it to the power supply and attach string to it
Make sure the string goes over a wooden bridge and has weights attached to the end
Turn it on
