A wave moving up and down

A wave moving backwards and forwards

Parallel to the waves

How do you calculate wave speed?
Frequency x Wavelength
Distance x time
How do you measure the speed of waves?
- Mark a certain point from start to finish
- Measure the distance
- Time how long it takes for the wave to pass those certain points
What can you use to measure distance?
Tape measure
Meter stick
What can you use to measure time?
Stopwatch
