What is a wave?
A body of water moving towards a coastline at a higher than average phone level.
What is a destructive wave?
Has a strong backwash and a weak swash.
What is a constructive wave?
Weak backwash, strong swash
Information on constructive waves?
Created in calmer weather
Break on shore and deposit material
Long wavelength but high in height
Information on destructive waves?
Created in storm conditions
Tend to erode the coast
Short wave length and are high and steep
How are waves generally created?
By the wind
The bottom of the sea interrupts the circular flow of the water and causes the top to flow faster than the bottom. ( the top overtakes the bottom and collapses, causing waves or break)
