Explain the meaning of the term ‘Watershed’.
The term watershed refers to the natural phenomenon when water pools into one area, normally due to a steep incline.
What are the four watersheds that can be found in the Brampton community?
a. Etobicoke
B. Credit River
C. Humber River
D. Mimico
In which watershed are we located at (school address)?
We’re located at the Etobicoke/Mimico watershed.
When rain falls on streets, where does it go? Explain the steps the water will follow in (City/Town Name).
The water falls into the municipal drainage system, going through the sewers before being treated and sent for consumption.
Are there any endangered animals that are found within our watershed? What can we do to protect them?
An endangered animal found in our watershed is the redside dace. Redside dace are small, red fish that feed on algae and plankton.
