What does river damming do?
Reduces flow, eliminates pool riffle sequences, decreases water velocity, increases in water temp and thermal stratification, anoxia sediment build up, decreased oxygen level

What processes are in the water cycle?
Evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, infiltration percolation and flow, storage
What are the global threatening factors to freshwater?
Climate change, pollution, salinisation, agriculture, eutrophication, mining, thermal impacts, invasive species and disease, urbanisation/habitat loss
Define anhydrobiosis
Life without water (for periods of their lives). Eg chironomid, tardigrade, wood frog (wood frog -> frozen frog, 65% of body water freezes)

Can breathe underwater and in air eg lungfish and the Mary River Turtle
