Q

What is the Temporal Hypothesis?

A

Environments are unpredictable therefore sexual recombination should favour survival of families under these conditions (some recombinants will make it)

Q

Where does phenotypic variability arise from?

A

P= G + E + GE

P= phenotypic variability
G= genes
E= environment

Q

What is the Spatial Hypothesis?

A

Siblings may compete with one another because they tend to occupy the same environment, sexual reproduction will lead to new combination that will escape intraspecific competition

Q

What is the Red Queen Hypothesis?

A

Sexual recombination may lead to a host to produce offspring that escapades infection from parasites. At the same time it would allow the parasite to track these changes in the host. (Example of frequency dependant selection)
