16
Q

What is evaporation?

A

Water molecules in liquid water that escape into the air.

17
Q

What is pollutant?

A

A harmful substance in the air, water, or soil.

18
Q

What is the difference between freshwater and salt water?

A

Freshwater is water without salt and salt water is water with salt.

19
Q

What does the water cycle do?

A

Brings water into the atmosphere, and back down to Earth. There’s three steps to the water cycle. There is also no beginning and end.

20
Q

What is the difference between a spring and a tributary?

A

A spring is a water that shoots out of the ground. A tributary is a small river that leads into a big body of water.

21
Q

What is the difference between PH and water Hardness?

A

PH is the measurement of how acidic or basic the water is on a scale of 0-14. Hardness is the sample of the two minerals, calcium and magnesium.

22
Q

What is the difference between Coagulation and Chlorination?

A

Coagulation is the process by which particles in a liquid clump together. Chlorination is a substance added to drinking water to kill disease causing microorganism.

23
Q

What is water quality?

A

The degree of purity in the water.

24
Q

What is the difference between watershed and a reservoir?

A

A watershed is the land area that supplies water to a river system. Reservoir is a lake that stores water for humans to use.
