Q

fun facts

A

ocean stores 97% of all global water
freshwater is roughly 2.5% with glaciers being 69% of that 2.5% and groundwater being 30% and the extra 1% is surface water like lakes, rivers, permafrost, swamps and Marshalls

Q

farming

A

irrigation removes water from local rivers - reduced flow, pastoral farming compacts soil, reduced infiltration and increased surface run-off. arable farming means crops increase interception and evapotranspiration, the plough breaks up the surface which increases infiltration.
