Water Cycle Flashcards

Q
Can you explain what humidity is and what effect a humid day has on evaporation in terms of particle movement, change of state and energy?
A
Humidity is the amount of water in the air. On humid days the rate of evaporation is slow until saturation point is reached when evaporation stops as the saturated air is already full of water vapour. Once this point is reached there is no particle movement, no change of state and no energy gain or loss.
