What is a natural system?
It helps to explain how different components in a system influence each other
What is a cascading system?
It’s energy and matter from one system that’s transferred to another (open system)
Define closed system
Energy can enter and exit but matter can only enter (not exit)
Define open system
Energy and matter can enter and exit the system
Are water and carbon cycles, opened or closed systems?
They are closed!!
Define positive feedback
A change in the system is amplified and the system does not restore back to equilibrium
Define negative feedback
A change in the system is nullified and the system restores back to equilibrium (balance between inputs and outputs)
Define dynamic equilibrium
A change in the system occurs and the system tries to restore itselfs to equilibrium. It’s dynamic = constantly fluctuating, not static
