Q

What causes water intoxication?

A

If too much water is drunk too quickly, eventually the kidneys will not be blue to work fast enough to remove sufficient amounts from the body, so the blood becomes more dilute with low salt concentrations. It there is too much water in the cells they will swell and this swelling is a problem in the brain and can be very dangerous.
