- people always want the newest model
What are the disadvantages of e-waste?
- products which produce e-waste often have many different parts
- dismantling the parts can be time consuming
- e-waste sometimes contains toxic metal like Mercury which has to be disposed of carefully

Why is waste production lower in LEDCs?
- less is bought because people are usually on lower incomes
- less packaging is used on products
- disposable items e.g. Razors, plastic plates and nappies are used less
- lower literacy levels means there is less production of written material
