What is the purpose of the Army
The purpose of the army is to fight and win the nation’s wars
If we are going to win wars, we must have leaders who are:
Physically and mentally tough
Technically and tactically proficient
Strategically and operationally adaptive
Ethos
The disposition, character, or fundamental values
peculiar to a specific person, people, culture, or
movement
The Warrior Ethos
I will always place the mission first
I will never accept defeat
I will never quit
I will never leave a fallen comrade
What does the warrior ethos refer to?
The professional attitudes and beliefs that characterize the American Soldier
It echoes through the precepts of the Code of Conduct and reflects a Soldier’s Selfless commitment to the Nation, mission, unit and fellow Soldiers
The Warrior Ethos was developed and sustained through discipline, commitment to the Army Values, and the pride in the Army’s heritage

bears true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, your unit, and other soldiers

Face fear, danger or adversity (physical or moral)
