Warden Introduction Flashcards
Welcome esteemed…
colleagues, to Oxford Castle and Prison. Before we go any further, allow me to introduce myself: I am Harry, warden of this prison for the last five years and doing a wonderful job of it too, if I do say so myself.
The current situation…
notwithstanding. It’s a shame we must be meeting in such sad circumstances: as you may have already been informed, a murder has taken place in our prison. One of our own inmates has been found dead and so we will be looking to you good people to solve this mystery for us, with the Oxford police force being sadly, yet unsurprisingly, underfunded!
You sir, how…
many years’ experience do you have with murders, and no, Cluedo does not count. Madame, I can see from your intelligent bravado that you are the brains of this operation are you not? I hope so, because the sooner you solve this murder the sooner that I can get changed, go home and get nice and cosy in my bed. So no pressure. And you sir perhaps the brawn? Anyway, Let us waste no further time, we have a body to discover and a crime to decipher! Follow me!
Winifred, what on…
earth are you doing?
Oh don’t mind me, dearies. I’m just tidying up!
Tidying up? This is a murder scene!
I’m always popping in and out, aren’t I, Harry?
Dear, if we could get back to the matter at hand
Oh yes, sorry!
As you can see, he seems to have died while going about his duties in the prison, although we’re still not sure exactly how he died. Now, let us return upstairs. We should allow the coroner to take charge of the body.
So first things first, I…
believe we should go and introduce you to the inmates. We’ll split you into two groups I think: I shall take this group and my wife will take you people. My dear, why don’t you go to Clay first and I’ll take Bertie and then we’ll swap over.
