All interested systems joins a group, system sends packet once and the network duplicates packets appropriately. Only sent to the one address that the receivers are listening to.
What address does OSPF use to send/receive updates
224.0.0.5

224.0.0.0 -> 239.255.255.255
How is multicast done on Ethernet
No multicast support. So instead broadcasted with a filter using network cards
What packets can you and can’t you multicast
TCP can’t be multicast be it assumes a single sender /r receiver.
