How should the back of a w/c be measured?
From the seat of the w/c to the base of the axilla, minus 4 inches.
How should the width of a w/c be measured?
Measure the widest aspect of the user’s buttocks, hips, or thighs, and add 2 inches.
How should w/c seat depth be measured?
Measure from posterior buttock to the popliteal fossa, and subtract 2 inches.
How should w/c armrest height be measured?
Measure from the seat of the w/c to the olecranon process and add 1 inch.
What height should a cane be measured to?
To the level of the ulnar styloid process. A 20-30deg angle of elbow flexion should be present when using a cane or walker.
What percent grade should an ADA approved ramp have?
8.3% or 1/12 ratio of rise/run. 1 foot run for every inch rise
What length of ramp is required to have a landing at both ends?
72 inches or 6 feet is required to have a landing at both ends.
Minimum width for w/c to turn 180 deg?
60inches
Hallway or ramp clearance for w/c

ADA requirements for toilet
18 inches from floor to top of toilet
ADA requirement for sink height
Not less than 29 inches, or taller than 40 inches. Must have 17 inches under.

With lofstrand (forearm) crutches, how far should the cuff be measured from the elbow?
1 to 1.5 inches from the elbow.
