Define partisan dealignment
Suggests that voters are much less likely to vote according to their membership of a particular social class. It is closely linked to partisan dealignment, whereby voters abandon traditional party loyalties.
What is the general trend of social class and party association
seen to be very important pre-1970s, but gradually become less important. DE and C1 more likely to vote Labour and ABC1 more likely to vote Tory
