how does class affect voting behaviour
A
- Economic issues have been replaced with social ones; immigration, crime, culture, Britain’s position in the world.
- In 2019 the ‘Red Wall’ in the North lost many seats to the Tories. E.g. Bolsover in Derbyshire (Labour since 1950) became Tory.

how does location affect voter behaviour
A
- There is a strong rural/urban divide in politics in the UK.
- Cities tend to have younger, more diverse populations, too.
- Cities tend to have more social problems that makes Labour more desirable.
- London, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Newcastle- all strong Labour.

A
There is a strong correlation between age and voting that is well documented.
47 is the age where are you are most likely to ‘switch’ from Labour to Conservative.

how does ethnicity affect voter behaviour
A
- Non-white people make up 18% of the UK and generally vote Labour.
- The Conservatives have had more history with of anti-minority campaigning (E.g. Rivers of Blood) Whereas Labour tend to be more positive about migration.

A
it doesn’t, The propensity for women to vote Conservative tends to increase exponentially with age at roughly the same rate as men.
